Sponsor Singles for Seniors

 This program is designed to help place our senior or special needs cats in homes with senior citizens/ differently abled folks to provide loving companionship for both the pet and its new owner. Too often older or special needs cats are passed by for adoption just because they are too old yet they are wonderful loving animals! Often, these cats are amazing towards humans but don't tolerate other animals.

• Studies have shown that pet ownership reduces stress, a measure of protection for both heart and mental health
• This program offers you the ability to offer a senior pet a place to call “home” for the remainder of their days
• A mature cat’s personality is already established, so you know what you are getting
• Pets provide WONDERFUL unconditional love

• A senior or special needs cat is placed in your home as a permanent foster, therefore there is no adoption fee.
• A Kitty Buddy will be assigned to you and each cat. This volunteer will be your permanent link to TIPS and stay in contact to check on you and your cat.
• You, as the “owner”, are responsible for providing daily food and litter. (Food and litter assistance may be available, talk to your Kitty Buddy for details).
• TIPS will be responsible for all reasonable medical needs/care.
• In case of a permanent event that prevents you from caring for your cat please be assured that we will take back your cat and work to find it another loving home

• All cats are vetted yearly, spay/neutered and current with all vaccinations at no cost to you (and a copy will be provided to you).
•  All cats placed must remain in-door cats only.
•  TIPS will assess each placement/situation on a case by case basis and place the best cat at our discretion in your home. Special requests/ circumstances will be taken into consideration in the placement process.
• You must be 65 yrs of age or older (or differently abled and recommended for our program by a professional) and have no other pets, and only one cat will be placed in each home (except in special circumstances at our discretion).
