Although we mainly focus upon stray and feral cats, we also help low income residents, who cannot afford the cost of sterilization and medical care, obtain care for their cats.
We work primarily in Madison and Union Counties, as Plain City is divided between these two counties. We do, however, often receive calls for help from many areas within the Central Ohio area.
TNR ONLY - The Community Cat Initiative is held every Friday and serves 35 cats per week. Appointment Required.

Ohio Paws with Purpose provides vouchers for FREE spay/neuter services for cats performed at PetFix in Euclid for pets. Our organization provides partial payment to PetFix towards the cost of the spay/neuter of dogs. The owner must pay any cost in excess of the amount paid for their dog's procedure. OPwP will, however, also pay for a rabies vaccine if needed.

Ohio Paws with Purpose's dog and cat food distribution occurs at Willow Praise Church from 8 to 10am on the 4th Saturday of each month from January through October. Due to the holidays, distribution occurs on the 3rd Saturday of the month for November and December. The church is located at 32901 Vine St., Willowick, OH 44095. There is no requirement to receive food, other than need.

The RedRover Relief Safe Escape grant program helps families with pets safely escape domestic violence together. Funding is mainly provided to help with the cost of temporary pet boarding while a survivor is in a domestic violence shelter, though other costs associated with boarding (like vaccinations) can be considered.

The SICSA Safe Pets Program partners with local organizations to provide temporary emergency pet housing for pets displaced by emergencies such as natural disasters, domestic violence, hospitalization and homelessness.
PACT gives peace of mind to Veterans, hospital patients and military personnel by placing their pets into temporary foster homes until their owners can be reunited with the devoted companions they love. PACT has facilitated the placement of more than 3,000 companion pets and approved more than 1,400 foster homes in all 50 states.

Serenity's Wish is a grant based fund, available to Live Like Roo applicants. Serenity's Wish is intended to assist pet parents through end of life care and decision making, for their pets. This assistance will be limited to hospice consults, palliative care, and humane euthanasia and cremation.

We will contact your veterinarian to verify that the pet is in fact terminally ill and requires assistance crossing the bridge. Any other reason for euthanasia does not qualify. You must also provide proof that you are receiving government assistance. The maximum amount contributed by OPwP is $75 and will be paid directly to the veterinarian. No exceptions.
